International Women’s Day

Imagine being a 16-year-old young woman having a patent-pending invention…  This is what International Women’s Day is all about. Helping women of all ages succeed.

Rosanne Danner has had the privilege of coaching three young women over the past several years to do just that. Please take a few minutes to listen to their story in this short video and see how you can help them achieve their goals! AND don’t forget to turn up the volume…… “

For International Women’s Day 2022, It’s a Girls World is celebrating our young women and the incredible things they are doing.

  • Our Interns (8th and 9th graders) will be competing in Destination Imagination at the regional level on March 26th at Ridgeway High School in northern NJ
  • Our Engineers (11th graders) are extremely busy.  They are one of the only high school teams to be invited to AIAA Regional Technical Conference at Virginia Tech to present a technical paper on their invention – the ValkEIRe at the end of March. They have also once again advanced to Round 3 of the Conrad Challenge. Again only about 45 teams of the over 700 teams to start are advancing and of those 45 only about half were invited to attend the in-person summit at the Johnson Space Center in Houston at the end of April.
  • Our Seniors helped local girl scout troops achieve their STEM Career Exploration Badges in the fall.  They also have been busy applying to colleges.  Callie has been accepted to Virginia Tech for Chemical Engineering.  Amanda is still deciding which school to attend in the fall but she has been accepted into a Biomedical research program at several of her choices

The video is also posted on LinkedIn and Instagram as well as here on our website. The hope is that our video will help our Engineers gain access to an airline to demonstrate their invention as well as help raise needed funds to complete their prototype and to travel to Houston.
