Maria DeMora – College Level Experiences Pay Off

SJR’s partnership with Salem Community College allowed Maria DeMora to gain 18 free college credits over 2 years for her participation on FIRST Robotics Team 316 LUNATECS. This program, which lists FIRST in the college syllabus, has helped offset college costs and boosted Maria’s educational journey.

In fact, these credits helped set apart her application to the National Security Language Initiative for Youth. She received a full scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to participate in this program. “This gives me the opportunity to study a new language, Korean, to use in the global field of technology. My personal goal is to become a global technical translator, and I credit South Jersey Robotics and FIRST for helping me build these foundations.”
