Congratulations to our own Mr. Don!  He was one of two 2016 John B. Campbell Award winners at Mannington Mills where he works.  Mannington gave Don this prestigious award because “Don is a tremendous asset to the technical and all maintenance trouble-shooting teams.  Don has saved multitudes of downtime on several large-scale breakdowns.  His reaction time and positive performance are second to none.  He likes to share his knowledge while working on a problem so others can learn as well. He gives 100% on safety, job performance, and time management, always looking for a solution to the root cause of a problem.

Don has been a mentor for the FIRST Robotics Program at Salem Community College for the high school robotics team [the LuNaTeCs] for many years.  He has taken time out of his schedule and dedicated many weekends going all over the country with his team competing in tournaments.”

Longtime LuNaTeCs Mentor

Done spends much of his free time helping students from Gloucester and Salem Counties and beyond who are on the LuNaTeCs team.  He teaches themn robot design, mechanical skills, programming, game strategy, and much more.  He also helped their sister team in Bridgeton, Velocity, get started three years ago and does classes with both teams each fall.  His dedication is something all of the students (and their parents) appreciate.

Congratulations again, Mr. Don! We’re all very proud of you!
