Nerds of the world, unite!

Have you hugged a nerd today?  Smart kids often wonder, where do I fit in?  The answer is, FIRST® Robotics!  Do you know a student grades K-12 who is competitive but not in a sports setting? Maybe they don’t like the physical nature of sports or don’t have the necessary skills.  Robotics is the perfect answer!

FIRST® Robotics

My son felt like he didn’t fit in with other kids.  He loved all things math and science so we took him to join a robotics team.  At first he didn’t want to go, but after the first competition he attended, Duel on the Delaware, he was hooked!  After that, we couldn’t keep him away from the workshop!  It was so much fun, watching robots competing, teams yelling and screaming in the stands, just like at a basketball or soccer game.  But thanks to the core FIRST tenet of Gracious Professionalism® the kids were extremely courteous and well-behaved.  Yes, they cheered.  Yes, they got excited.  But there wasn’t fighting.  There wasn’t swearing.  It was FUN!
