FLL Program Manager
The South Jersey Robotics FIRST Lego League (FLL) Program Manager is a volunteer position whose responsibilities include collecting registration fees, registering FLL teams, providing fundraising information to team coaches, organizing multi-team events, leading the organizing team for the annual FLL event at Salem Community College, and oversight of the LEGO League teams associated with SJR including being a resource for information on the FLL program as well as SJR’s guidelines.  The manager also attends SJR board meetings (4X per year) to provide status pertaining to the SJR Lego teams.  The FLL Program Manager will work with coaches of FLL teams who meet at various locations in Salem and Gloucester Counties.

FLL Coach
A FIRST Lego League (FLL) coach will work with students from grades 4-7 to inspire them and get them excited about science, technology, engineering, and math.  In addition, they will guide the students in the designing, building, and programming of robots which will be used to compete against other teams in regional competitions.  They will be responsible for coordinating transportation with team parents for their teams to attend competitions.  FLL coaches will work with students in grades 4-7 at various locations in South Jersey.


FTC Program Manager
The South Jersey Robotics FIRST Technical Challenge (FTC) Program Manager is a volunteer position whose responsibilities include collecting registration fees, registering teams, providing fundraising information to the team coaches, organizing multi-team events, being part the organizing team for the annual Duel on the Delaware event at Salem Community College, and arranging travel for competitions. The FTC Program Manager also has oversight of the FTC teams associated with SJR including being a resource for information on the FTC program as well as SJR’s guidelines.  The manager also attends SJR board meetings (4X per year) to provide status pertaining to the FTC team.  The FTC Program Manager will work with teenagers, parents and mentors in  Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland Counties.

FTC Team Manager
The South Jersey Robotics FIRST Technical Challenge (FTC) Program Manager is a volunteer position whose responsibilities include setting the team calendar for meetings, organizing all the paperwork pertaining to their team, maintaining attendance records, organizing their team to participate with fundraising events, helping with multi-team events, assisting in outreach and recruiting, and being part the organizing team for the annual Duel on the Delaware event at Salem Community College.  The FTC Team Manager will work with teenagers, parents and mentors in Gloucester, Salem, or Cumberland County.

FTC Technical Mentor
A Technical Mentor for South Jersey Robotics would have mechanical skills using basic tools that can be applied in the assembly of robots.  A mentor would attend working meetings with the students and could guide them in the designing, building, and programming of robots.  A technical mentor would have skills one or more of these fields: electronics, machining, carpentry, computer programming, CAD, pneumatics, tinkering, etc.. Technical mentors will work with teenagers in Gloucester, Salem, and/or Cumberland County, NJ.

FTC Coach
A FIRST Technical Challenge coach will work with students from grades 7-9 to teach them leadership, teamwork, and competition skills.  In addition, they will guide the students in the designing, building, and programming of robots which will be used to compete against other teams in regional competitions in NJ and beyond.

The South Jersey Robotics FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Program Manager is a volunteer position whose responsibilities include collecting registration fees, registering FRC teams, providing fundraising information to the team managers, organizing multi-team events, leading the organizing team for the annual Duel on the Delaware event at Salem Community College, and arranging travel for competitions.  The FRC Program Manager also has oversight of the FRC teams associated with SJR including being a resource for information on the FRC program as well as SJR’s guidelines.  The manager attends SJR board meetings (4X per year) to provide status pertaining to the FRC team.  The FRC Program Manager will work with teenagers, parents and mentors at Salem Community College in Carneys Point, NJ, and at STEAMworks maker space in Bridgeton, NJ.

FRC NEMO
A NEMO (part of the Non-Engineering Mentor Organization in FIRST) is a mentor/coach/team supporter who is not an engineer.  This mentor could be a marketing professional, a social media expert, a business person, a grant-writer, a photographer, a website pro, etc.  Robotics teams are more than just building robots so these non-technical mentors help students brand and market the team, write business plans, develop a social media strategy, create presentations to do public speaking, develop and maintain team websites, do videography and/or photography (needed to compete for the prestigious Chairman’s Award), organize large-scale fundraising including finding and writing grants and developing a major sponsor program, and more.  The FIRST program covers a comprehensive set of skills and offers awards for more than winning competitions.  NEMO mentors are important to their teams’ success in achieving these non-technical goals.
