ROVs can be used in lieu of human contact in potable water tanks.  The ROV can be placed inside the Water Tank where all portions of the internal conditions can be recorded.  Seams, roof, internal pipelines, and corrosion can be reviewed.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Regulations states:

§290.46(m)(1) Each of the system's ground, elevated, and pressure tanks shall be inspected annually by water system personnel or a contracted inspection service.
